Watermelon is the most well known of the melons. Seedless watermelons are generally round in shape and dark green. The flesh inside is a pink colour with no seeds. They are available all year round and are a great summer snack. Storage: A whole watermelon can be stored at room temperaturefor a week. Once cut it should b stored in an air-tight container in the fridge for up to a week. Nutrition: Watermelon is an alkalising and cleansing fruit and a good source of many vitamins. Due to the high water content, the vitamins and minerals in watermelon are easily absorbed by the body. Ideal Use: Watermelon can be cut into cubes or wedges and can be eaten as is. They are a great addition to fruit salads.
